Happy Birthday, Skipper

Happy Birthday to my father-in-law, Skip! I am sure you guys are having a blast (I am assuming you are bowling) in The Villages. We are thinking about you and wishing we were there to celebrate with you.
Be prepared for a powerful rendition of "Happy Birthday To You!" coming later this evening :o)
*Thanks for the photos, Flemings!

Crab-tastic Day

Yesterday, we had an exciting day.
First stop was Sears- we purchased a new... DISHWASHER! Yay!
I am tired of having to wash our dishes on the "Heavy" cycle and they still come out dirty. We decided that it would be the first of our appliances that we replace and yesterday we pulled the trigger. So excited for our new Samsung stainless steel dishwasher to arrive later this week.
Next stop, Veritas Winery. We did a tasting and picked up our wine club wines. This month is Saddleback Chardonnay, Rose and the Cab Franc Reserve. Yummy. We decided to get our Saddleback chilled and drink it at the Vineyard. We watched while the staff set up for a wedding (as usual!) They told us that every Friday, Saturday and Sunday there are weddings held there. It is such a beautiful place!
After Veritas, we stopped by our other favorite spot, Blue Mountain Brewery to fill up our growler (and sample a flight!) There was a new beer, The Sandy Bottom, which was our favorite and choice for our growler.
Last stop was... Anderson Carriage Food House for some fresh Blue Crabs! We were inspired earlier in the day by our wedding gift from Courtney and Jeff- everything we would need for a Crab Feast! Well, we had one and it was DELICIOUS! Anderson's is such a great shop that reminds us very much of Corks & Kegs in Richmond. We will be frequent customers from here on out. (Please notice the ping pong balls and Beer Pong sign near the exit! Awesome.)

When we got home, we poured our beers, set up our table, layed out our crab tools and poured out the CRABS! So delicious.

It was a great day and we had so much fun enjoying our new C-ville surroundings.

Beach Wedding- Mason & Jason

Congratulations to Dr. (Mr.) and Dr. (Mrs.) Campbell!
We are SO happy for you and had a great weekend celebrating your beachy nuptuals. Mason, I was so honored to be standing up on the beach with you and I am beyond excited for you and Jason. It was a fabulous weekend, beautiful ceremony, ridulously FUN reception (especially the photo booth!) and you looked gorgeous.
Hope you are having a blast on your honeymoon- can't wait to hear all about it!
Love you guys! :o)

*Thanks Amanda & Christian for the awesome photos!

Top of the Hops- Charlottesville Beer Festival

What an AMAZING event. A few weeks ago, we stumbled upon an announcement advertising the Top of the Hops, the Charlottesville Beer Festival held at the downtown Pavilion. It was so fun and we will be in annual attendance!
Steve's dad and his girlfriend were visiting our house and Charlottesville for the first time that weekend, so it was the perfect way for them to see the downtown mall and experience a great event in C-ville. After a quick tour of our house and before we headed down to the Pavilion, we had a tasty lunch of cold cuts to get us ready for brew sampling.
Over 150 craft beers were available to sample. Lots were seasonal Oktoberfest's and Pumpkin Ale's- Yum! They even had my favorite Belgium brew, Delirium Tremens, brewed by Brouwerij Huyghe (try to say that three times fast?). So delicious!

We learned from some more "experienced" beer festival attendees that a pretzel necklace is a must. Luckily, one of the vendors was giving out pretzel cup necklaces that were the perfect snack while beer tasting.

It was a blast and we will definitely be back next year! Who wants to come with us!?
