Happy Birthday, Mom!

Happy Birthday to the most wonderful, supportive and caring person in the world! I am so glad to have such a wonderful woman in my life. Thanks for being so great, mom, we love you very much.
Glad to hear that you had a great day of bowling, lunching and dinner out. I only wish we could have been there to celebrate with you. Hope this year is the best one yet. :o)

Saunders-Monticello Trail

Today Steve, Bella and I explored the
Saunders-Monticello Walking/Hiking Trail.
Lucky for us, our house is less than three miles away from the beautiful and wonderfully maintained trails! On our way to Monticello and during our visit to Carter Mountain Orchard earlier this summer, we saw portions of the trail and have been eager to try it out. Today, we finally had the opportunity to walk the trail!
The coolest part of the trail is the Saunder's Bridge. It is an elevated, wooden bridge that makes up significant portions of the trail. Around the elevated bridge are huge trees and the forest floor is below. There is also a pond and most of the over 2 mile trail (each way) is shaded by the tall trees overhead. It is beautiful and we had so much fun. Just another cool (and close by!) Charlottesville adventure.

Something Blue

On our wedding day, my "something blue" was an adoarable pair of Kate Spade, Christa shoes in Peacock. Thanks to my college girls and a couple of glasses of wine ;o) I found this great pair of shoes, closed my eyes and clicked "Order" from Zappos. They were perfect and I loved wearing them!

An old high school friend just sent me a message asking where I had gotten the shoes... which leads me to this post.
I did a quick Google search to find a few fun pairs for her, and although I couldn't find a place that still sold the Christa's in Peacock, I did find a few other super cute pairs of blue shoes. I am so glad that it is now a trend to wear a fun, colorful pair of shoes on the big day. I love seeing that little peak of color as the bride comes down the aisle (and dances at the reception!) Here are some of the cute (and reasonably priced) pairs that I came across, enjoy!

Steve's 2 Weeks

Steve has officially put in his two week's notice at both of his jobs!
It is exciting (and a little scary for me) that he is going to be a full time student again in two weeks and one day. Exciting because I am so proud of him for getting into UVA Law School and for him to do something he has wanted to do since high school, but scary because I am going to be the only one working full time for the next three years.
It is going to be a change for us, but it will be fun to start this new chapter of our lives together!
